Such an iconic and cherished movie of my childhood. I can't wait to show it to Lyanna. Also now that I was just in Barcelona, I have to go back and watch Cheetah Girls 2 😂

If you want more love and discussion of DCOMs, you should check out the podcast This Ends at Prom. One of the hosts is a big fan of DCOMs and they recently covered Zenon

Boy do I have a funny story for you! I know that podcast because it is hosted by an editor I've worked with! BJ and I actually went to the same high school (not at the same time, she was 4 years ahead of me I think?), I connected with her a few years ago bc I saw an article she wrote about wrestling on Autostraddle and thought her name sounded familiar, and eventually re-connected with her to get some freelance gigs! She's currently an editor at Slash Film, which is where I wrote my TLOU articles! We're internet cool 😎

That's so cool! I think she mentioned at one point that she's from Zion, so I should've figured there was a connection there haha

(I also pitched this to her loosely a few months ago but ultimately decided to publish it here haha)

The Cheetah Girls is such a core childhood media memory for me. I have such nostalgia for early 2000s Disney Channel and DCOMs and the way they shaped my growing up. I feel so full of joy after reading this and will certainly be spending the rest of my afternoon down the early 2000s Disney Channel rabbit hole! I'm also so delighted to learn that Whitney Houston produced TCG?!

I KNOW I can't even remember when I learned Whitney produced it but it's my favorite fact about the movie and Whitney herself. So random!
